Replay brings together artworks that address the production of versions, either literally, or in terms of their fundamental methodology, with or without referencing meta-discourse on the topic. What they all share is a playfulness and Pop affinity as well as a certain nonchalance, for instance in relation to copyright and the issue of ‘the original’. The work is informed and shaped by current discourse on these issues in art and theory, as well as by the carefree rule-breakers underway in amateur cultures.
COMPILER, founded by Tweaklab (Basel, Switzerland) in 2002, is a series of curated DVD compilations and a platform for film, video and audio works.
